A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Authentic Tea House is anything but tiny. Electric refrigeration reached the American mass market in the late 1920s, changing how households stored food and even how desserts such as ice cream could be made at home. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
