A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Car Smasher sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Silverstone hosted the first Formula 1 World Championship round on May 13, 1950. That is only half the story. In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
