A strange little side quest
Curve Crawler may feel immediate, but the ideas around racing have been evolving for a very long time. Silverstone hosted the first Formula 1 World Championship round on May 13, 1950. It also connects to a different milestone: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives Curve Crawler a little more company than it first appears to have.
