A small trivia drop for Zany Zoo: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. That gives Zany Zoo a little more company than it first appears to have.
