A strange little side quest
Incub8 belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. The Oregon Trail eventually appeared across generations of computer hardware and sold tens of millions of copies, making it one of the most enduring educational games. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. Not bad for a few facts hiding behind a Play button.
