A strange little side quest
The next time World of Mimi asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
