A strange little side quest
A quick detour while Match Match waits for your next move: The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
