A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Tower Trouble sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. By 1987, fantasy role-playing had become a major computer-game direction, with Zelda, licensed Dungeons & Dragons games and other story-led adventures expanding the form. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Tower Trouble feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
