A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Top That Pizza. Nancy Johnson patented a hand-cranked ice-cream freezer in 1843 that used an inner churning chamber surrounded by ice. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
