A strange little side quest
Stacked may feel immediate, but the ideas around puzzles have been evolving for a very long time. The name Tetris combines a reference to four-square pieces with Pajitnov's interest in tennis. It also connects to a different milestone: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. So a round of Stacked is not just a quick distraction; it is a tiny stop on a much longer puzzles timeline.
