A strange little side quest
Smurf Dinner has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Electric refrigeration reached the American mass market in the late 1920s, changing how households stored food and even how desserts such as ice cream could be made at home. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. That long chain of experiments is part of why food history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
