A strange little side quest
Prison Architect: Cage Break Tycoon may feel immediate, but the ideas around strategy games have been evolving for a very long time. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. The timeline takes another interesting turn: The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games.
