A strange little side quest
Ong's Sister Kitchen has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Electric refrigeration reached the American mass market in the late 1920s, changing how households stored food and even how desserts such as ice cream could be made at home. And then there is this: M.U.L.E. arrived in 1983 with multiplayer competition built around gathering resources and keeping a colony alive, an early example of resource-driven strategy play. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Ong's Sister Kitchen feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
