A strange little side quest
Plant VS Zombies has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. It also connects to a different milestone: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Plant VS Zombies feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
