A strange little side quest

Pencircle belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Pencircle feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
