A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Crazy Bob, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Alexey Pajitnov created Tetris in 1984 after drawing inspiration from pentomino puzzles, then simplified the idea around shapes made from four squares. The timeline takes another interesting turn: Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
