A strange little side quest
Money Empire has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. The word 'checkmate' is linked to the Persian expression 'shah mat', used when the king was trapped. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
