A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Kick the Buddy: 3D Shooter for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Our solar system formed about 4.6 billion years ago from a cloud of gas and dust collapsing under gravity. A second detail makes the picture even better: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That long chain of experiments is part of why space still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
