A strange little side quest
Put Unlikely next to the history of video-game history and a few unexpected connections appear. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. The same trail leads to another fact: Space Invaders, released in 1978, helped push video games into mainstream popular culture. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
