A strange little side quest
A little context makes Heart Transplant Surgery more fun to place on the gaming map. Barbie Fashion Designer became a major software hit in 1996, selling more than 500,000 copies in two months and proving there was a large audience for fashion-focused computer play. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Heart Transplant Surgery feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
