A strange little side quest
The next time Hot BBQ Party asks for one more try, remember that game ideas rarely appear from nowhere. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The timeline takes another interesting turn: Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Hot BBQ Party feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
