A strange little side quest
Put DualForce Idle next to the history of strategy games and a few unexpected connections appear. Modern chess traces back to the Indian game chaturanga, recorded around the sixth century and built around pieces representing parts of an army. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
