A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Cube Field. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. The same trail leads to another fact: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
