A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Tight Squeeze sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
