A strange little side quest
The mechanics around Cheer Up Moody Ally have roots that stretch far beyond modern browsers. Cone-shaped wafers with cream were described in print before 1900, but the ice-cream cone became a major American fairground hit at the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: By the 1890s, department stores and mail-order catalogs were selling mass-produced ready-to-wear clothes in standardized styles and price ranges. Not bad for a few facts hiding behind a Play button.
