A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Bush Royal Rampage is anything but tiny. Doom changed game design and distribution in 1993 by separating its engine from content and spreading widely through shareware. It also connects to a different milestone: In 1958, Tennis for Two used an analog computer and an oscilloscope to turn simple physics into a playable tennis-like demonstration. That gives Bush Royal Rampage a little more company than it first appears to have.
