A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Build and Fly Obby is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. The Oregon Trail mixed travel, supplies, risk and survival decisions decades before resource-management systems became common in mainstream games. And then there is this: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That long chain of experiments is part of why simulation games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
