A strange little side quest
A little context makes Bighouse Beatdown more fun to place on the gaming map. Boxing was part of the ancient Olympic Games by 688 BC, long before gloves, weight classes, or timed rounds existed in anything like their modern form. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why combat sports still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
