A strange little side quest
Backrooms: Skibidi Escape has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why video-game history still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
