A strange little side quest
A small trivia drop for Ant Mine Tycoon: The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. And the history keeps stacking up: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Ant Mine Tycoon feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
