A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Zambies is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Space Invaders arrived in 1978 and helped turn electronic games from an arcade curiosity into mainstream entertainment. That is only half the story. Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Zambies feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
