A strange little side quest
World Fighting Soccer 22 has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Association football's first unified Laws of the Game were drawn up in London in 1863. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. That long chain of experiments is part of why football still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
