A strange little side quest
Dunk Smash has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. Men's basketball became an Olympic medal sport in 1936, while women's basketball joined the Olympic programme in 1976. It also connects to a different milestone: Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. The screen is modern; the urge to test skill, pattern and timing definitely is not.
