A strange little side quest
Between one round of What's My Brand? and the next, this is worth knowing: Reader Rabbit's 1986 arrival was part of a major expansion of educational computer software before the CD-ROM boom of the 1990s. A second detail makes the picture even better: Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
