A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Unicorns Donuteria is anything but tiny. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
