A strange little side quest
A small trivia drop for Tower Make: Arthur Wynne published a diamond-shaped 'Word-Cross' in the New York World on December 21, 1913; the name later shifted to 'Cross-Word' and then 'crossword'. It also connects to a different milestone: A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Tower Make feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
