A strange little side quest
Rhythm Collision has plenty of company in a long tradition of players chasing timing, patterns and better decisions. A major archery competition held at Finsbury in England in 1583 drew about 3,000 participants. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
