A strange little side quest
Zoom out from Tactical Assassin for a moment and the timeline gets surprisingly deep. Modern chess traces back to the Indian game chaturanga, recorded around the sixth century and built around pieces representing parts of an army. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Gun Fight reached arcades in 1975 and became the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That long chain of experiments is part of why strategy games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
