A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Street Skater. Nintendo's Donkey Kong arrived in 1981 and introduced the character first known as Jumpman, who later became Mario. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. Archery was already on the Olympic programme in 1900, boxing joined the modern Games in 1904, and basketball became a medal sport in 1936. That gives Street Skater a little more company than it first appears to have.
