A strange little side quest
Here is a rabbit hole for the next loading screen in Spider Monkey: SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The broader history adds one more wrinkle. Pac-Man went on sale in 1980, and its creator Toru Iwatani famously linked the character's shape to a pizza with a slice missing. That long chain of experiments is part of why simulation games still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
