A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Skibidi Toilet: Long Neck. Arthur Wynne published a diamond-shaped 'Word-Cross' in the New York World on December 21, 1913; the name later shifted to 'Cross-Word' and then 'crossword'. The same trail leads to another fact: Pong was field-tested in California bars in 1972 and helped launch the modern arcade-game era. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
