A strange little side quest
Sea Battleship may feel immediate, but the ideas around food history have been evolving for a very long time. Tomatoes helped turn Naples' flatbreads into the food we recognize as pizza, which had become an important food for poorer Neapolitans by the 18th century. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Chess changed dramatically in Europe during the 15th and 16th centuries when the queen became the board's most powerful piece. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
