A strange little side quest
Before the next round of Angry Plants Defense, here is a piece of the bigger picture. Games resembling checkers were being played thousands of years ago; evidence of related games reaches back to around 1600 BC. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Spacewar! appeared on MIT's PDP-1 in 1962 and became one of the earliest influential computer games shared among programmers. That gives Angry Plants Defense a little more company than it first appears to have.
