A strange little side quest
Even a quick game like Save My Juan sits on top of decades — and sometimes centuries — of ideas. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. That is only half the story. Computer Space reached arcades in 1971 and became one of the earliest commercial electronic arcade games, even though its controls proved demanding for many players. That history is one reason familiar mechanics can still feel new when they are recombined well.
