A strange little side quest
There is a neat bit of history hiding behind the kind of play you find in Princesses Multilayered Fashion. During much of the 19th century in the United States, visibly painted cosmetics became socially unacceptable even though beauty practices never disappeared. A second detail makes the picture even better: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That gives Princesses Multilayered Fashion a little more company than it first appears to have.
