Beach Ice Cream

A strange little side quest

Beach Ice Cream belongs to a much longer story of play than a browser tab might suggest. Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That is only half the story. By the 1890s, department stores and mail-order catalogs were selling mass-produced ready-to-wear clothes in standardized styles and price ranges. It is a good reminder that simple game mechanics can carry a surprising amount of history.
