A strange little side quest
The rules may be simple on screen, but the backstory around Pair Zoobies is anything but tiny. The Oregon Trail began in 1971 when three student teachers created a computer simulation to help Minnesota schoolchildren learn American history. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Midway's Gun Fight from 1975 was the first arcade video game to use a microprocessor. That is the kind of background detail that makes another attempt at Pair Zoobies feel a bit more connected to the history of play.
