A strange little side quest
My Pets Shop may feel immediate, but the ideas around food history have been evolving for a very long time. Tomatoes helped turn Naples' flatbreads into the food we recognize as pizza, which had become an important food for poorer Neapolitans by the 18th century. That old idea kept changing rather than disappearing. SimCity grew out of Will Wright's enjoyment of the map editor he had built for an earlier game; the act of shaping a city became the game itself. The details change, but the appeal of learning a system and trying again is remarkably persistent.
