A strange little side quest
One reason role-playing games keeps producing good game ideas around Master of Surprises is that its history is full of strange turns. Early computer role-playing games helped turn rules, inventories, exploration and character progression into systems that could support long-form digital adventures. There is another connection worth keeping in the same mental pocket: Women competed in Olympic archery as early as 1904, making it one of the early Olympic sports to include women. That gives Master of Surprises a little more company than it first appears to have.
