A strange little side quest
The fun part of looking behind Save The Cowboy is seeing how many older ideas are still alive in modern play. Archery first appeared at the Olympic Games in 1900 and returned permanently to the programme in 1972 after a long absence. Another piece of context lands nicely beside it: Atari's Gran Trak 10 from 1974 is recognized as the first arcade racing video game. That long chain of experiments is part of why archery still feels fresh when a game finds the right twist.
